High sumer beach bunnies 2....

So now you have the swimsuit covered, what could look more positively glam than an OTT beach hat? I love, love, love the uber chilled straw hats seen on the models in Ungaro's SS09 runways show.

So, guess what I went on the hunt for?

Yep, that's right, 3 of the best summer beach hats.

1, This cutesy Anna Sui straw fedora has successfully removed the wannabe JT circa 2004 vibe from fedoras.

2. This more structured straw number from Miss Sixty. The leather panel adds a much needed edge to the classic straw hat.

3. I'm seeing this Malene Birger number everywhere, and it's not surprising seeing this 50s inspired number is not only extremely chic, but also totally affordable at £50!

High Summer Beach Bunnies

It's officially summer and (despite my plans to run off to Hawaii for a well deserved break, going spectacularly wrong) i'm on the case for a fabulous swimsuit that screams look. at. me.

Last year I was obsessed with getting my hands on the Juicy Couture turquoise ruffle bikini and I was obviously in fine company as Naomi herself was snapped in that very same bikini.

This year i've totally moved on, so here are 5 of my best.

1, Zimmerman-a stunning and slightly risque one-piece you won't want to risk getting wet at £299. In fact their entire 09 swimwear collection looks pretty impressive @ www.zimmerman.com. And I thought Sass and Bide was the only Australian label for me!

2&3 I'm in love with the 50s inspired Michael Kors swimwear. Their both available at ASOS!

4. Keeping with the polka dot vibe set by Michael Kors, I found this beauty by Freya on figleaves. It comes as a tankini as well as a bikini and is soooo much more affordable at £27 for the bikini top and £38 for the tankini.

5. Finally, Missoni's SS09 swimwear collection features the usual print fest that is Missoni, but the gorgeous basket weave print of the one below really caught my eye. The only problem with the one that featured on the runway? The shape. I guess it's more of a bodysuit than a swimsuit but....I tracked down a Missoni swimsuit in a similar print on net-a-porter, if only it had the colour intensity of the runway suit.
Either way it's still gorgeously eye catching.

Fashion related irks....

I'm a pretty opinionated sort of person and just realised, I really do not rant enough on here (or post enough...but that's another story!)
Sooooo.......

The top 5 fashion happenings that are bugging the hell out of me.

1. Lauren Conrad penning her memoirs.......what!! I'll admit to watching The Hills (well, who doesn't, even if it is all staged?!) but seriously, reality tv star, turned fashion designer, turned writer? That's not a triple threat, just triple annoyance!!

2. US project runway, really does not look like it's ever going to get US airing, so that means zero chance of it ever returning to UK screens, sob! I stumbled across an ad casting for a new series and got excited.....clearly a little prematurely!

3.Lily Allen for Chanel. Yes, that is Lily Allen 'the epitome of Class'. Yes this is news from a couple of weeks ago, but I'm still reeling.
Chanel+ Lily Allen= world gone mad.
Yes she loves draping herself in Chanel, but is that really the only criteria for fronting a campaign? If so, i'm gonna go out in Alberta Ferretti designs for the next month solid and see what happens! (and Yes, i've used the word 'yes' a lot, but that's what happens when Karl Largerfield makes me mad!)

4. People in tights, scarves, fur coats etc. Ok so it's England and the weather is notoriously sub standard but it's actually been warm over the past few weeks! So why do people insist on maintaining the winter attire! Stop it, you're scaring the sun away!

5. Natalia Vodianova at Eurovision. Why oh why. Everything about Eurovision scream tack fest, so why would a super glamorous model who was strutting down runways for DvF and Balenciaga a mere few months ago, turn to Eurovision?

Everyone's going crazy for Matthew.

So Matthew Williamson is unveiling part 2 of his H & M collection and as I type, I'm sure hundreds of determined ladies are getting their beauty sleep in preparation for some dedicated and slightly insane queuing outside their closest participating store.

Over the past couple of years, H&M have gone crazy with the whole guest designer collections that soon, plain old H&M by...well...H&M just won't do!

Despite being someone who steers clear of distinctive high street pieces such as the Matthew Williamson collection(purely out of a phobia of running into someone wearing exactly the same outfit as myself!), i've had a sneak peak at tomorrows offerings and although some items look pretty hot(die hard Williamson fans will be very pleased), I still won't be indulging, i'm fixed in my ways like that!

But the shots from the campaign are simply stunning so......

Of course, i'm still lusting after these babies from his SS09 collection....yes the coral is the same one Lindsay Lohan was rocking during Feb 09 fashion week.

Fashion crush.

I'm partial to a daydream....so today's is, if I could steal any celebrity's wardrobe....

If I could steal any celebrity's wardrobe, it would have to be an Olsen twins', MK or Ash, I really don't mind which (OK, I lie, I completely favour Ashley). As far as I'm concerned, I'm yet to see anyone else with such "together" personal style that isn't built firmly on current trends.

So enjoy my little wall inspired Olsen fashion choices.....die hard fans, try and guess with Olsen is in each pic.

Double the style & MK looking polished in Burberry.

Yin and yang. & MK doing her best Disco diva in sequins.

On point simplicity from Ashley & MK'S best "I just threw this on!"

Three words...check.the.shoes! & That Elle cover (Sept 2008).

The verdict's in, who MET the mark?

So today, the fashion world was buzzing with everyone voicing opinions on outfits from yesterday's Metropolitan Museum's costume gala. The fashion pack was out on full force trying to make an entrance and secure many front pages, but unfortunately some obtained column inches for the wrong reasons.

The criticism fell largely on Madonna, Rihanna and Leighton Meester, all taking the costume aspect of the gala a step too far by choosing to wear borderline avant garde outfits exactly as seen on AW 09 runways. Hmmmmm.....

So, for your pleasure, runway vs real life, aka: a reminder of why we shouldn't take runway ready to wear literally (even if we are loaded celebs who can usually do no wrong!)

Ok, so i'm very upset with Leighton. She's usually on point with her outfits. This Vuitton dress is cute and very regal looking, so i'm surprised she didn't lose the leggings and wear the dress bare legged. I guess we're all allowed to miss the mark once in a while.

I think we've all heard the phrase "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" So lets have a moment's silence for Madonna, butchering 2 Vuitton looks in one go.

And finally, Rihanna's had a hard time of late with the press, so why does she insist on making things worse? It was awkward looking on the runway, so it's not likely to work in real life either!

But it wasn't all bad news. How cute is Helena Christensen's dress?! Very 'dancing on ice' but oh so adorable.

And Liya Kebede looking fabulous in a dress I would happily sell my grandmother for! Simply beautiful....
